Hon. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation undertook a working visit to Republic of Uganda 8th – 10th August 2019

NAMIBIA FOREIGN MINISTER

On the 8th to 10th August 2019 Hon. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation recently undertook a working visit to the Republic of Uganda. The visit was aimed at further strengthening the bonds of friendship and existing bilateral relations between the two countries, which were founded on the common principles of Pan-Africanism.

During her working visit, Hon. Nandi-Ndaitwah held fruitful discussions with the following dignitaries:

His Excellency Yoweri Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda,
Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Ruhakana Rugunda,
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda, Hon. Sam K. Kutesa, 
Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives of the Republic of Uganda, Hon. Amelia Kyambadde.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister also paid a courtesy call on the Chairperson of Pan African Women’s Organisation (PAWO), in Kampala, Uganda.

The visit was successful and cemented the relations between Namibia and Uganda. The two counties agreed to conclude two Memoranda of Understanding on Diplomatic and Political Consultation as well as on Trade and Investment.

The two countries also agreed to inaugurate a Joint Permanent Commission of Cooperation in 2020 at a date to be mutually agreed upon in due course.
